The Japanese Association for Behavior Analysis (J-ABA) was established in 1986 to promote the experimental, theoretical, and applied analysis of behavior in Japan. Currently, J-ABA has more than 1,000 members. Members come from a wide variety of professions and include academics, practitioners, teachers, social workers, medical doctors, nurses, animal trainers, and businesspeople. In 2023, we celebrated our 40th anniversary continuing from last year. We had special events for the celebration. The symposium titled “Connecting experimental behavior analysis to the future” was held at the annual conference. Also, the book titled Language and behavior: Basic and applied analysis of verbal behavior was reissued. The original book was published in 2001. The symposium which focused on the book was held on November 18 in Yokohama. The 41st annual convention was held in person at Ritsumeikan University in Osaka from September 8 to 10 in 2023. The 42nd annual convention will be held at Komazawa University in Tokyo from September 13 to 15 in 2024.
