Utah ABA
By Caleb Stanely
This past year in Utah has been very productive and exciting for the UtABA board and members. We have continued to embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as a central part within all UtABA committees and have remained committed to promoting contemporary and ethical practice to UtABA members and practitioners in the state.
Our many committees have diligently engaged in various work and demonstrated continued commitment in ensuring the smooth operation of UtABA. The Public Policy Committee has worked incredibly hard the past year, as there has been ongoing legislation which affects practitioners in the state. The Public Policy Committee has worked to ensure such legislation is aligned with our ethical and practice standards. Our Professional Development Committee offered several webinars over the past year, as well as organized our annual conference. The theme of the annual conference this year was “contemporary practice in ABA” and we had several speakers who were able to provide us with content on this topic. The webinars and annual conference were received very well by our members, who reported on positive aspects and valuable content from the webinars and conference. Our Public Relations committee was busy keeping UtABA members up to date on the latest happenings in behavior analysis around the state. Among other things, they posted information about upcoming webinars and conferences, and shared tips for people getting ready to sit for the BCBA exam.
We are very grateful for all individuals who dedicate their time to the UtABA committees, as well as committed membership who continue to promote and provide ethical, contemporary practice in the state of Utah.
