Minnesota Northland ABA – 2025 Chapter Update
By Michael Laverdiere
Hello from the Minnesota Northland Association for Behavior Analysis (MNABA)!
We welcomed one new face to the executive board, Brooke Anderson (President-Elect). We said “see you later, never goodbye” to the past president, Dr. Odessa Luna.
In 2024, all of the hard work of many individuals, including our legislative chair, Dr. Eric Larsson, BCBA-D, LP, came to fruition with the passing of legislation for BCBA licensure. Minnesota joins all of its neighboring states in safeguarding its citizens and protecting the integrity of the field through licensure through the MN Board of Psychology effective Jan 1st, 2025.
Below are a few highlights of 2024:
- Under the direction of our legislative chair, Dr. Eric Larsson, BCBA-D, LP, Minnesota passed legislation for BCBA licensure. License requirements took effect 01/01/2025.
- Continued our efforts to streamline communication efforts between members, our website, and social media platforms.
- We hosted our annual conference on September 26 and 27, 2024!
- Location: Bloomington, MN
- Keynote Speaker: Dr. Shahla Alai
- CEUs provided: 9.5 Possible per attendee
- Four, 3-hour workshops
- Six breakout sessions
- Poster Session/Data Blitz: 14 poster presentations
- # of attendees: 306
Below are our goals for 2025:
- Continue to make legislative efforts in advocating for ABA policies in Minnesota.
- Carry out our 2022-2027 strategic plan.
- Refine and update our website.
- Identify opportunities for our membership to gain CEs outside of our annual conference.
- Recruit and vote in several new members for the 2025-2026 Board.
- Host our annual conference.
We look forward to all that 2025-2026 has to offer MNABA and its members, including our conference scheduled for September 22-23, 2025. Please check www.mnaba.org often for details on this event and everything else we have going on—we would love to see you in Minnesota!
