Philippines ABA – 2025 Chapter Update

Philippine Association for Behavior Analysis (PABA) in 2024 introduced its PHASE II program with participating local government health units in Metro Manila giving training to health care providers in incorporating training programs assisting families create their own home programs for children with autism. The programs were carefully designed according to the needs of each family with no financial assistance or capabilities to obtain interventions for children with autism. The programs focused in preparing and educating family members to assist their children on their daily home and learning activities. The goal of the local government health units for parents to achieve a functional home set up for their children to lessen their dependence and wait time in getting services from the health centers. With such set-up, families saw the importance of having a home program in place at the same time the health centers were less burdened or no longer limited in extending support to families in need. It allowed a more improved monitoring system by health care providers on families under their home care program.
PABA continued to assist health care providers in upgrading their parent home training programs by introducing more attainable goals for all family members. A regular consultation was extended by PABA to allow health care providers to address their concerns.
PABA continued its collaboration with hospitals in providing a more comprehensive workshops for medical practitioners and enrolled health care providers in implementing an ABA program. Several PABA member centers offered their services to interested participants in receiving post training for online consultations and on-site observations. Likewise, PABA made available its online awareness and training lectures with two more colleges in the Visayas Region participated by educators, parents, and health practitioners. More special education teachers participated seeking mentorship and guidance in ABA to equip them with proper tools helpful in their teaching goals.
For the year 2026, PABA is aiming to extend its support and accommodate more local government health centers in the Visayas Region requesting for more training and post lecture consultations. PABA intends to give assistance to these health centers to achieve a more effective ABA program and expand the range of their services in their communities.
PABA will continue to engage more in fund-raising activities to sustain its training projects in collaboration with the local government health centers.
