ABA Germany – 2025 Chapter Update

Germany ABA

By Andrea Widmann

Over the past year, activity within ABA Germany has been limited, with most initiatives taking place at the individual and local level.

Nevertheless, these efforts continue to move in the right direction, particularly in building awareness of behavior analysis among professionals and public authorities. An important reference point for practitioners in Germany remains the S3 Autism Guidelines (2021), which explicitly mention behavior analysis for the first time. This inclusion provides a valuable basis for advancing recognition of ABA in the national context.

Looking ahead, ABA Germany intends to strengthen its connection to European initiatives, especially through the European Association for Behaviour Analysis (EABA) and the EuroBA project, to ensure alignment with international best practices and the development of shared professional standards across Europe.
